In August 2007, heritage-listed Shed 14 at Central Pier became the new home for Atlantic Group [V], housing 4 new world-class event venues, never before seen in Melbourne. Shed 14's 3,700 square-metre floor area has been subdivided into four distinct venues namely; Peninsula, Atlantic, Sumac and Sketch - each with their own distinct personality in terms of style, sophistication and size. Each venue has a team of passionate and committed hospitality professionals delivering the ultimate in memorable event experiences. Sympathetic to the heritage nature of the sheds, their exterior aesthetic has been retained whilst the inside has been sensitively redeveloped to accommodate new state-of-the-art facilities: Peninsula Peninsula is Melbournes most glamorous and avant-garde waterfront event space. From the moment you enter, youll be overwhelmed by its sheer size. Its design was inspired by Londons iconic Tate Modern Museum and features nine metre high ceilings, exposed trusses and huge floor to ceiling windows flanked by the original loading doors of the shed. Peninsula has a contemporary colour palette of black, white and grey and includes a stunning 66-metre crystal chandelier streaking along one side of the room. Atlantic Featuring cathedral-style ceilings, expansive windows that provide a flood of natural light contrast against a host of contemporary design features including a mirror tiled wall. Atlantic has a light, earthy feel with light natural hand etched wooden floorboards complemented by a colour palette of beige, tan and black. Atlantics design features include a shipping crate inspired bar, Shed 14's original loading doors and six custom made low hung chandeliers comprising of chrome metal bodies and massive transparent panels with prominent globes that emanate light. Sumac Sumacs Moroccan influences include dark wooden hand etched floorboards, a vibrant fuchsia colour scheme featuring rich, sumptuous fabrics, dark metal latticework and traditional Moroccan hanging lamps. A dramatic floor to ceiling cream curtain sweeps along one side of the room, and a bronze mirrored bar stands at one end. The space features high ceilings and rich colours a reference to the spice from which Sumac takes its name. Sketch Walk into SKETCH and you enter haute monde- a stunning private dining room where no expense is spared. From imported showcase fittings such as the feature chandelier from Milan to designer crockery and cutlery from Spain, SKETCH provides a level of class and sophistication that no other venue can offer. Located at the end of the pier with a floor to ceiling glass window overlooking the water, the striking interior decor of rich purple and black is sure to make a lasting impression with you and your guests. Alumbra Melbournes most decadent waterfront cocktail venue has been reborn on a grand scale at shed 9, Central Pier, Docklands. Reincarnated from its original Southwharf location, Alumbra brings its trademark global essence to Central Pier. Modular in design, Alumbra can accommodate up to 750 people across the main bar, event space, lounge-style mezzanine level (Prive Lounge) and decking area.
