Melbourne Convention + Visitors Bureau (MCVB) invites you to discover more about Melbourne, the events capital of Australia, and one of the worlds most liveable cities. Melbourne offers superb event facilities including five major convention hotels within close proximity to a diverse range of multi-purpose venues and the acclaimed Melbourne Convention Exhibition Centre (MCEC). Last year construction commenced on the new 5-000 seat Convention Centre to be built adjacent to the MCEC. When complete in 2009, Melbourne will have the largest combined exhibition and convention space in Australia. With vast experience in business events and tourism, MCVB works closely with 300 industry providers to ensure you receive the best possible service. As a founding member of BestCities, a global alliance of convention bureaux that champions best practice, Melbourne continues to be innovative through interaction and knowledge exchanges. Melbourne is a major centre for research and development and is recognised worldwide for its work in medicine, science, technology, business and finance.
